Stimulates saliva for oral care
The Main Functions of Saliva
Recently, cases of “dry mouth” (xerostomia) have been increasing, and the number of patients is estimated to be 8 million. It is especially common among women aged 50 and over.

Oral Care by the Double
Power of Near-Infrared and Schumann
Resonance Ultrasound
Effect of “Near-infrared” also used for cancer treatment
Since saliva is made in the salivary glands with blood as a raw material, as the amount of blood that enters the salivary glands increases, so saliva also increases.
Since it also has a relaxing effect on the bite, any salivary ducts that have been compressed by the bite will be released and saliva will be smoothly discharged into the oral cavity. Also, the supply of oxygen and nutrients to the gums will increase, making healthier gums.
Effect of “Schumann Resonance Ultrasound*” to promote blood flow
SALIORA beauté
- • My mouth that had been dry felt filled with saliva.
- • A 5-minute massage set my saliva overflowing.
- • I feel like my nasolabial folds have become thinner.
- • My mouth is moisturized.
- • The vibration made me feel comfortable, like I could sleep.
- • It felt very good and refreshing.
To further promote the activation of dysfunctional gums and salivary gland tissue, the 7.8 Hz frequency that incorporates the Schumann resonance function is used, rather than a simple ultrasonic wave.
ncreases both blood flow in the brain
and saliva volume!
A paper that verified cerebral blood flow and saliva volume using the SALIORA beauté was published by a research group led by Vice President Tsukinoki of Kanagawa Dental University, which advocated “Good Saliva Day (November 28)” which was registered with the Japan Anniversary Association.
The paper focuses on the importance and activation of the cerebral cortex, the control center of things that humans need to live, and examines how near-infrared irradiation and Schumann resonance ultrasound cause changes in the cerebral cortex.
Below is excerpted from part of the paper.
“Cerebral Cortex Activation Caused by Near-Infrared Oral Irradiation: Relationship with Saliva Production”
1.Subjects
A total of 11 healthy adult males and females (6 males, 5 females) with a mean age of 43.8 ± 6.2 years.
A questionnaire survey was also conducted.
2.Methods
①Gingival massage with ultrasound
②Intraoral irradiation of near-infrared light
③Gingival massage with ultrasound and intraoral irradiation of near-infrared light (SALIORA beauté)
④45 simple mathematical problems
While the subject performed (1) to (4) in order, cerebral blood flow was measured (using NIRS) and saliva collected.
What is NIRS?
NIRS is near-infrared spectroscopy, which uses near-infrared light to measure changes in the concentration of hemoglobin in the blood of the brain and muscles to evaluate the state of oxygenation in the blood and changes in cerebral blood flow. This enables non-invasive confirmation of changes in the brain due to external stimuli or some activity, and changes in the state of each muscle (degree of fatigue and degree of recovery) that accompany exercise.
According to the results of the questionnaire, 81.8% of the respondents answered that they felt an effect on saliva production from using the device, and among them, 36.4% answered that they felt that the ultrasound + near-infrared device produced the most saliva. About a relaxing effect, 36.4% of the respondents answered that they felt it, and among them, “ultrasound + near-infrared light” was 100%.
The results of cerebral blood flow showed that ultrasound alone did not increase blood flow, but cerebral blood flow increased continuously for a certain period of time with ultrasound plus near-infrared irradiation. (See the figure below.)
In the results on saliva volume, increases were observed in all cases, but a significant difference was observed especially in ultrasound + near-infrared light. This is thought to be because near-infrared irradiation has the effect of increasing the blood flow in perioral muscles such as the masseter, and ultrasonic stimulation has a synergistic effect that increases saliva volume.
Recent studies have shown that the cognitive decline seen in brain disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease can be prevented by increasing blood flow in the frontal region. Irradiation to the oral cavity with near-infrared light increased blood flow and oxygen saturation in the cerebral cortex, suggesting that the SALIORA beauté activates the cerebral cortex. This paper shows that an increase of saliva and activation of the cerebral cortex can be expected by adopting near-infrared irradiation and gingival massage as daily functional oral care.

Relationship Between Brain and Mouth
In the sensory and motor areas of the brain, the oral cavity has very broad involvement. From this it can be seen that the oral region has played an important role genetically in humans for a very long time.
Reduced oral function is known to cause a broad deterioration in brain function, and recently it has been pointed out that a reduction in oral function and decline in masticatory ability reduce blood flow to the brain and increase the risk of dementia.
The brain is divided into the sensory area (the part that receives tactile information from the body) and the motor area (the part that issues commands to move the body). The depiction above shows which part of the sensory cortex the input from each part of the body is projected on.
